The concept of Religions… My views!

This is something that has been on my mind for a few days now - and so I thought I would throw it out there to see what others think!

Well in my opinion - ALL religions and cults (not comparing the two in either way), say that ‘they’ are the only and true way to get to a higher life, existence or heaven. So if that is the case - then surely if the Jews are right (as an example), then that’s a lot of ‘good’ people believing in other forms of ‘god’ not going to be invited to the after-party.

I don’t believe in a God - or even a selection of them - but I do know that there is a lot of stuff going on all ‘in the name of…’ which surely, whoever they believe in wouldn’t agree with? Which then begs the question, when does a Cult become a Religion? Is 40 people in Texas believing in one thing a well-rounded belief system, a religion or a cult?

If the passion and credibility is there for the individual involved - surely Scientology is like Christianity - where people have views and values? Surely, when you think about it, all religions are based on hearsay (through texts and preachings) and some form of control (dogma, rules, some form of money exchange etc.)? Which extends further to why have religions and instead try to just respect one-another for what that individual does compared to what colour they are or who they sleep with etc?

Life is difficult enough as it is… Why make it worse?
