Death… The Final Frontier

star trek iconOk… this is one of those things where I was looking for something else, and just clicked on the wrong web-link, but I have to admit I am half tempted in getting one of these when my time comes!

To be honest I thought that these were a joke at first, and yet after a bit of research, they seem to be the real thing!

Star Trek CasketI personally like the “STAR TREK Casket styling has been inspired by the popular “Photon Torpedo” design seen in STAR TREK II: The Wrath of Kahn.

However (and this is going to show how much of a complete GEEK I am… so you have been warned!), I personally would like to see a choice of colour (ie Red, Gold or Blue) depending on which ‘department’ I wish to be associated with, and also a choice of comm badge (personal favorite: DS9 / Voyager version) on the inside of the lid. Finally perhaps some from of plague on the outside in the style of a Starship’s Plague? Or is that going a little too far?

This is what they say on their website:

Star Trek UrnFor the millions of fans on our planet and beyond, our new line of STAR TREK urns, caskets, monuments and vaults will be an important discovery indeed. After ten movies and five television series, phrases like “Live long and prosper,” “Resistance is futile” and “Space: the final frontier” have become part of our global vocabulary.

Monuments and vaults will also debut next year. The Eternal Image STAR TREK line is licensed for sale in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Korea and Japan.

The first two products to debut will be the STAR TREK urns and caskets, both available in 2008. Click here to visit their website: http://www.eternalimage.net/st_page.html
