Star Trek meets Linux on Nokia 770 LCARS ‘PADD’

Ever since I was a little kid, I have always wanted to be able to walk around with a selection of PADDs under my arm - each for a different project I am working on, being able to work on them wherever I should be at the time.

And then over the years I have been fortunate enough to have laptops to do roughly the same thing. Even one of Microsoft’s core products they are working on are to create tablets. But nothing has really come close to the experience the PADD seemed to have on the TV Show… until now!

Now available for a Nokia  770 or N800 near you is a new interface theme that be applied to the OS to make it look and feel like a PADD out of Star Trek. Synthesize, the organisation who has made the skins have produced technically four versions of the software. There are two text sizes and two color schemes available: LCARS PADD is the original PADD color scheme, and LCARS Bridge is a color scheme loosely based on starship bridge controls.
